I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Tamil residents of Scarborough-Agincourt and Ontario on the occasion of Tai Pongal and Tamil Heritage Month.
Your presence, culture, traditions, strong family and community ethos have strengthened our diversity and enriched our society making it a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
As the abundance of the Tai Pongal harvest festival, the Tamil community’s contributions are far too numerous to cite here.
Your determination to preserve your national identity, resist forced assimilation and genocide is inspiring and commendable. I am proud of you and the values you represent.
