மே 18, 2025, அன்று இலங்கையில் அரச பயங்கரவாதத்தின் மிருகத்தனமான தாக்குதல் முடிவடைந்ததிலிருந்து பதினாறு ஆண்டுகளைக் குறிக்கிறது .மற்றும் இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்தின் இனப்படுகொலை தாக்குதல், இது முல்லிவாய்க்காலின் கரையில் உச்சக்கட்டத்தை அடைந்தது. இந்த புனிதமான ஆண்டுநினைவில் , தமிழ் உரிமைகள் குழு தங்கள் உயிரை இழந்த பல தமிழ் பொதுமக்களை நினைவுகூருகின்றது,
மேலும் சொல்லமுடியாத அட்டூழியங்களைத் தாங்கிய எண்ணற்ற மற்றவர்களும். சுதந்திரம் மற்றும் சுயநிர்ணயத்திற்காக இறுதி தியாகம் செய்த துணிச்சலான ஆத்மாக்களுக்கும் நாங்கள் அஞ்சலி செலுத்துகிறோம். அவர்களின் தைரியம், அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் நினைவகம் ஆகியவை எங்கள் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்த மனசாட்சியில் பொறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன
கடந்த பதினாறு ஆண்டுகளில், தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு எதிரான அட்டூழியங்களை உலகளாவிய அங்கீகாரத்தில் நாங்கள் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க முன்னேற்றங்களைச் செய்துள்ளோம். புலனாய்வு அறிக்கைகள், சர்வதேச சட்டத்தரணிகளின் சேவை மற்றும் புலம்பெயர் அணிதிரட்டல் ஆகியவை இந்த குற்றங்களின் யதார்த்தத்தை தெளிவான பார்வைக்கு கொண்டு வந்துள்ளன. இன்னும், பெருகிவரும் சான்றுகள் மற்றும் பொறுப்புக்கூறலுக்கான தொடர்ச்சியான அழைப்புகள் இருந்தபோதிலும், அர்த்தமுள்ள நீதி எதுவும் அடையப்படவில்லை. வெகுஜன அட்டூழியங்கள் -WAN குற்றங்கள், மனிதகுலத்திற்கு எதிரான குற்றங்கள், மற்றும் இனப்படுகொலைக்கு எதிரான செயல்கள் -சுதந்திரமாக நடப்பதை எதிர்க்கின்றன, அதே நேரத்தில் தப்பிப்பிழைத்தவர்கள் தங்கள் துன்பத்தை மறுக்கும் ஒரு தனித்துவமான பிரதேசத்தில் அதிர்ச்சி மற்றும் அநீதியுடன் வாழ்கின்றனர்.
டி.ஆர்.ஜி.யில், முறையான சர்வதேச சட்ட அலகுகள் மூலம் நீதியைப் பின்தொடர நாங்கள் நம்மை அர்ப்பணித்துள்ளோம். சர்வதேச குற்றவியல் நீதிமன்றம் (ஐ.சி.சி) மற்றும் சர்வதேச நீதிமன்றம் (ஐ.சி.ஜே) ஆகியவற்றுக்கு வழக்குகளை முன்வைக்க வழிகளை நாங்கள் தீவிரமாக ஆராய்ந்து வருகிறோம். இவை குறியீட்டு சைகைகள் மட்டுமல்ல, இலங்கை அரசு மற்றும் பொறுப்புள்ள நபர்களை கணக்கில் வைத்திருப்பதற்கான வேண்டுமென்றே, கொள்கை ரீதியான முயற்சிகள். எங்கள் பணி சர்வதேச நீதி, பொறுப்புக்கூறல் மற்றும் உரிமைகளை மீட்டெடுப்பதில் ஆழ்ந்த மற்றும் அசைக்க முடியாத உறுதிப்பாட்டை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.
நாம் முன்னோக்கிப் பார்க்கும்போது, எங்கள் பணியின் அவசரம் ஒருபோதும் அதிகமாக இருந்ததில்லை. இன்றும் கூட, இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் மக்களைக் கொன்ற புதைகுழிகளை அழித்தல், தடயவியல் விசாரணைகளுக்கு இடையூறு விளைவித்தல் மற்றும் பாரம்பரிய தமிழ் கட்டமைப்புகள் மற்றும் புனிதமான மத தளங்களை இடிப்பது உள்ளிட்ட போர்க்குற்றங்களின் ஆதாரங்களை அழிக்கிறது. இந்த செயல்கள் மனித உரிமைகளின் மீறல்கள் மட்டுமல்ல, நமது வரலாற்று இருப்பு மற்றும் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்த நினைவகத்தை அழிப்பதற்கான வேண்டுமென்றே முயற்சிகள் ஆகும் என்றே கருதுகின்றோம்.
இதைத் தொடர நாம் அனுமதிக்க முடியாது, அனுமதிக்கவும் மாட்டோம்.
16 வது ஆண்டுநினைவைக் குறிக்கும்போது, நமது உலகளாவிய தமிழ் சமூகம், நட்பு நாடுகள் மற்றும் மனித உரிமை ஆதரவாளர்களை நீதி மற்றும் பொறுப்புக்கூறலுக்கான எங்கள் தொடர்ச்சியான முயற்சிகளுக்களுக்கானஉறுதியைச் செய்து உறுதியுடன் இருக்க அழைக்கிறோம். முக்கிய சட்ட முன்முயற்சிகளை முன்னேற்றுவதில் நாங்கள் பணியாற்றும் மாதங்களில், பொதுப் பிரச்சாரம, சமூக அணிதிரட்டல், வள பகிர்வு அல்லது தொழில்நுட்ப நிபுணத்துவம் மூலம் உங்கள் ஆதரவை நாங்கள் தொடர்ந்து எதிர்பார்க்கின்றோம். இவற்றில் ஒன்றாக, சான்றுகள் பாதுகாக்கப்படுவதையும், உண்மை உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டு, நீதி சீராக தொடரப்படுவதையும் உறுதிப்படுத்த நாங்கள் உதவ முடியும்.
நினைவுகூரலின் இந்த தருணமும் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட தீர்மானத்தில் ஒன்றாக இருக்கட்டும். தமிழ் மக்களுக்கான நீதி ஒரு தொலைதூர நம்பிக்கை அல்ல – இது நாம் வெல்லக்கூடிய மற்றும் வெல்ல வேண்டிய ஒரு நீண்ட போராட்டம் ஆகும்

Sixteen Years Later: A Call for Justice, Truth, and Accountability for the Eelam Tamil Community
Today, May 18th, 2025, marks sixteen years since the end of the brutal conflict in Sri Lanka and the country’s government’s genocidal onslaught that culminated along the shores of Mullivaikkal. On this solemn anniversary, Tamil Rights Group stands in remembrance of the many Tamil civilians who lost their lives, and the innumerable others who endured unspeakable atrocities. We also pay tribute to the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and self-determination. Their courage, dedication, and memory remain etched in our collective conscience
Over the past sixteen years, we have made significant strides in the global recognition of the atrocities committed against the Tamil people. Investigative reports, international advocacy, and diaspora mobilization have brought the reality of these crimes into clearer view. And yet, despite mounting evidence and repeated calls for accountability, no meaningful justice has been attained. The perpetrators of mass atrocities—war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts amounting to genocide—continue to walk free, while survivors still live with the trauma and injustice of a state that denies their suffering.
At TRG, we have dedicated ourselves to the pursuit of justice through legitimate international legal channels. We are actively exploring avenues to bring cases forward to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). These are not just symbolic gestures, they are deliberate, principled efforts to hold the Sri Lankan state and responsible individuals to account. Our work reflects a deep and unwavering commitment to international justice, accountability, and the restoration of Tamil dignity and rights.
As we look ahead, the urgency of our mission has never been greater. Even today, the Sri Lankan government continues to erase evidence of war crimes, including the destruction of mass graves, the obstruction of forensic investigations, and the ongoing demolition of traditional Tamil structures and sacred religious sites. These acts are not only violations of human rights but deliberate efforts to destroy our historical presence and collective memory.
We cannot and will not allow this to continue.
As we mark the 16th anniversary, we invite our global Tamil community, allies, and human rights supporters to remain engaged and committed to our ongoing efforts for justice and accountability. In the months ahead as we work towards advancing key legal initiatives we will continue to rely on your support—whether through public advocacy, community mobilization, resource sharing, or technical expertise. Together, we can help ensure that evidence is preserved, truth upheld, and justice steadily pursued.
Let this moment of remembrance also be one of renewed determination. Justice for the Tamil people is not a distant hope—it is a fight we can and must win.
