The Ontario Government launches an initiative allowing passengers in Toronto to use their debit or credit cards for fare payments beginning on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. This initiative, available to passengers that use the Toronto Transit Commission(TTC), allows commuters to have an expanded payment option at their convenience.
Associate Minister of Transportation, Stan Cho, addressed the importance of enhancing the lives of citizens in the Greater Toronto Area to make their experience using the TTC as smooth as possible. The introduction of debit and credit card payments indicates the government of Ontario’s willingness to make Toronto a more accessible city for all individuals.
This endeavour is just the start of Ontario’s commitment to enhancing the city and improving transit options. This includes being able to add PRESTO services on mobile wallets in the upcoming months.
